I started a YouTube Channel! - Life Happens Now

Yes I did!

While I love blogging and have been doing it for many years now, I felt like I was ready for the next evolution.

I started thinking about it a couple of years ago when I started using the audio app Clubhouse. I hosted a room there every Monday for a year and a half. What I loved about it was the ease of it – you can just talk, have conversations, not worry about perfect grammar, SEO, creating graphics, what you looked like etc. I really loved the ease and flow.

That got me thinking about creating a podcast. I bought a Yeti mic about a year ago and it just sat in the box. I even tried to sell it on Facebook Marketplace because I saw I wasn’t using it!

Ileana Torres – a member of my creative goal achieving program Visualize To Materialize had a goal last year to start a YouTube Channel. For weeks she put it off but the group was there to encourage, support and help her work through the fears and right before the end of the year, she did it! She launched!

Now I started thinking about it! I already knew how to record and lightly edit videos. I had that mic just sitting around collecting dust, and I had topics I wanted to discuss. So one day it came to me – just do it! So I did! Without hesitation I just jumped right in!

The timing was perfect because no one was home, my hair looked decent and I had some things I knew I could talk about. I just went with the flow – totally scrappy and imperfect, but I did it and it felt so fun!

Here are some takeaways from the experience to help inspire you on whatever goal you have…

I was in a group with someone else who did it so it made me think it was possible for me to do it. Surround yourself with people who inspire you!
I did it when I felt that intuitive hit and didn’t wait for things to be perfect or when I was fully ready. That would never happen!
It’s totally imperfect but at least I have a starting point. I couldn’t have figured it all out or even known what was involved UNTIL I actually got started! You need to take inspired, imperfect ACTION on your goals now!
There’s a lot for me to learn and improve on – like lighting, getting the word out there, etc but it feels good to have at least started.
You’re allowed to evolve. I was doing a written blog for so many years and I felt like I was ready for the next version!
