We made it to September! The start of the “bers”. I love this final third of the year. September has that New Year, New Chapter energy to it. Here in NYC, schools are back in session in September soon after Labor Day Weekend. Kids get new clothes, new supplies and everything feels like a fresh clean slate to start over again.

Let’s take that same energy into our own adult lives and businesses and see what we can create this month!

Whether you’re a photographer, artist, designer or maker, journaling can be your secret weapon to unlock new ideas, gain clarity, and keep your creative juices flowing. To help you embrace the magic of September, I’ve put together a thought provoking set of 10 journaling prompts that will ignite your imagination and fuel your entrepreneurial spirit.

  2. September Refresh – How can you use that new year, new chapter, clean slate energy in your creative business this month? Are there products or services you’re no longer excited about that can be replaced with new offerings that feel more aligned?
  3. September Reinvention – What are some ways you can reinvent yourself this month? Are you being true to who you really are and your deepest desires or are you just going with the flow – same old, same old?
  4. Mindset Check-In: Explore your current mindset towards your business. Are there any limiting beliefs or self-doubts that you need to address?
  5. Feedback and Growth: Reflect on recent feedback, whether positive or constructive. How can you use this feedback to improve your creative work or business processes?
  6. Future Planning: Outline one key action or decision you need to make in the coming months to advance your creative business. What steps will you take to prepare for it?
  7. Competitive Analysis: Choose a competitor or a business in your niche and analyze what they are doing well. What strategies or techniques can you learn from them to enhance your own business?
  8. Content Strategy: Plan your content strategy for the month. What valuable content can you create and share with your audience to establish your expertise and build engagement?
  9. Professional Development: Identify a skill or area of knowledge you’d like to improve. How can you invest in your own professional development to benefit your business?
  10. Holiday Season Strategy: How can you prepare your creative business for the upcoming holiday season? Brainstorm strategies for marketing, promotions, and special offerings.
