I’ve been on a journey this year to work on embracing myself more as an artist – not just a photographer. Not that there’s anything wrong with being a photographer. I love it and I totally believe that photography is a real art form. It’s probably my favorite. But I’m talking more about the distinction between client work and personal work.
Reading the book The Artist’s Way has made me way more intentional about making time and space for personal creative work. I’ve shared some of it here with my floral art photography and now I’m going even more public with it in a solo gallery show!
My work ha been in 3 group gallery shows in the past but this is my first solo. I’m so grateful to my friends at 505bx and KRVC for asking me to do it. Back in April they converted a section of their space to be used as a pop up art gallery in their existing storefront community space here in Riverdale. You can see the past exhibits here.
I’m busy finalizing and getting ready for the opening reception. If you’re around the area or know of someone that enjoys these types of events, please help me spread the word! Along with the art there will also be live music, food, and wine!
