Creativity Time – Week 4

This week I was busy with client projects, hosting a Vision Board workshop and continuing with an online class so I didn’t leave as much time for creativity as I’d like but this is what I’ve got…

Something is better than nothing!

Photography

We had some pretty amazing sunsets here this week. Unexpected pink skies in the middle of winter! One evening – I think it was Wednesday, I decided to go for an evening walk. I usually walk in the morning but it had been raining all day. Around sunset time, the sky seemed to brighten up. When I walked out of my building I was blown away by the pink sky! I had my phone with me, no real camera and it just didn’t do it any justice.

There were however a few beauties the rest of the week and I managed to get up to the roof with my real camera and photograph a few.

Drawing

My goal is to not only show you the things that work but also the experiments that flopped or that are still a work in progress. We all have to start somewhere and not everything comes out perfectly the first time around. When you’re creating art it should be fun – not stressful or perfect. What is perfect anyway??

This was an experiment with masking tape and markers. It definitely didn’t come out as I imagined in my head.

This is a colored pencil drawing inspired by the sunsets. It’s a work in progress. Not sure yet what I’ll do with it at this point but it’s definitely not done.

Cooking

I didn’t really make any new recipes this past week but I did continue with the soup theme from last week. I made tomato sauce for pasta (I always make homemade – not a jarred sauce fan!) and had leftover. I easily converted it into tomato soup!!

I put some sauce in a pot and added chicken broth. I grilled some corn on the cob and cut the kernels off and added it to the soup along with chick peas.

I let it cook for about 10 minutes then when it was ready, garnished it with cut up avocado. It was so spur of the moment I didn’t think to photograph it!

What did you create this past week?
